Internet Speed Test!

If you have problems with very slow web browsing or difficulty downloading your emails, you can check your internet speed at speedtest.net

When you see the map of South Africa, click on the green button to BEGIN TEST. It will take a few minutes to complete the test, then it will show you an upload and a download speed.

If you do not want to commit yourself to an annual SLA or you are not heavily dependant on Information Technology, then you may prefer to use Quantum IT Solutions on an call out basis. For downloads, anything lower than 0.8 is very slow.

For uploads, anything lower than 0.2 is very slow.

Normal ADSL or 3G should be from about 1.1 upwards to about 4.0 for downloads and from about 0.38 to about 0.9 for uploads

If this value is much lower than the internet package you are paying for, please contact your ISP and report the problem.

Note that there are often fluctuations in internet speeds, so restart your modem and do a second test about 15 minutes later to make sure your readings are accurate.
